Last Week of Summer

The past week was pretty slow. Only 20 observations from 9 species. Maybe we can pick that up as we finish out August. Let's be bold, why don't we hit that 350 mark in three days.

Because of the lack of observations, I'm going to be using my own observation for the weekly spotlight. I goth this light morph Swainson's Hawk on my way into work. They've been congregating along several backroads outside of La Grande, Oregon, and pretty sure they'll be forming huge migrating kettles that are always fun to enjoy.

Last week of August, school starts for kids this Monday, shorebirds are already here in good numbers, all signs that summer is leaving. But September is the best month of raptors, so I'm looking forward to it.
