City Nature Challenge - Corona-update

OPDATERING

På grund af situationen med corona-virus har organisatorene af City Nature Challenge besluttet, at konkurrenceelementet i årets City Nature Challenge droppes. Men det betyder ikke, at City Nature Challenge er aflyst, så vi skal stadig have undersøgt bynaturen i København. Det skal bare være den natur som findes lige der, hvor du bor. Det kan være i dit bolig/hus, have, baggård eller et lokalt grønt område. Der findes natur alle steder, og det hele har interesse! Så lad os få undersøgt hvad det er for nogle arter, der egentlig findes lige omkring os.

Der kan være massere af spændende natur at registrere lige der, hvor du er. Og det er faktisk en "naturtype", som ofte bliver overset i videnskabelige undersøgelser. Derfor vil vi meget gerne vide mere om, hvilke organismer der bor og lever sammen med Københavnerne. Og husk at alle organismer har interesse! Selv den døde, udtørrede flue i vindueskarmen, mos mellem fliserne eller en ringdue i baggården. Det eneste du skal gøre er, at tage et billede af en organisme inden for projektområdet og uploade billedet til iNaturalist. Så bliver din observation en del af den internationale undersøgelse af naturen, der hvor du er.

Der er nemlig stadig mere end 200 byer, som er med i undersøgelsen. Vi håber, at der er mange Københavnere der vil deltage den 24. til 27. april.

Men det er vigtigt, at du ikke opsøger områder, hvor der er mange andre mennesker, og det er vigtigt, at du holder afstand til andre, når du er ude og registrere arter. Vi følger nøje myndighedernes retningslinjer, og vi tilpasser vores deltagelse i City Nature Challenge fuldt ud efter dem.

Så pas på hinanden og lad os så få kortlagt nogle arter! :)

UPDATE

Because of the current situation with the Covid-19-virus, the organizers of City Nature Challenge have decided, to cancel the competition-element of this year City Nature Challenge. This does not mean a total cancellation of the City Nature Challenge 2020. We still want to know more about nature in the city! The focus will now be to register the nature living right where you are. It could be in your home, your garden, backyard or a small local green area. Nature is all around us, and we want to know what it is! So let us find out which species that are living just around us.

There could be exciting species right where you live. This is actually a habitat that we often oversee in scientific research. This is exactly why we want to know which species the people of Copenhagen are living with. Remember: all organisms are interesting! Even the dead, dried out fly in the windowsill, mosses in the crack between tiles or the wood pigeon chirping in your backyard. All you have to do is find it, take a picture and upload the picture in iNaturalist. This way your observation will be part of the international investigation of the species of which we share our lives.

More than 200 cities around the world still plan to participate. We really hope that the people of Copenhagen will join from April 24 – 27. Do make sure that you will stay away from outdoor spaces where people usually gather and keep a distance of minimum 2 meters to others. We continuously follow the guidelines from the Danish authorities, and we will adjust our participation in the City Nature Challenge according to them.
