I am a researcher and curator at the Smithsonian natural history museum and study flies. I appreciate all Diptera species, but my research and field-work focus on apiocerid flies (Apioceridae), assassin or robber flies (Asilidae), and mydas flies (Mydidae) as well as both Asiloidea and Orthorrhapha in general.
My field-work takes me around the world and I enjoy taking macro photos of, primarily, insects. However, for my research collecting specimens is the priority and photos of flies in nature come next.
