I am an entomologist addressing a variety of research questions in the fields of systematics, evolutionary and conservation biology. I am also very passionate about photography, and I I have recently joined iNaturalist to learn more about the insects I see in my neighborhood and surroundings as well as to improve my macro photography skills. What a fun experience!

Since I am based in Germany, most of my identifications are based on kerbtier.de. I am also the curator of the beetle's collection of the Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, and I usually cross-check the identifications with material in the collection.
