I am Bachelor in Forestry from the Federal University of Viçosa (1985), Master in Forestry from the Federal University of Viçosa (1988), PhD in Biological Sciences (Entomology) from the Federal University of Paraná (2003) and post-doctoral studies at the Curtin University in Perth, Australia (2011). Collaborator of the Natural History Museum in Basel, Switzerland. I am currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa Florestas. I have experience in Forest Resources and Forest Engineering, with emphasis on Forest Protection, working mainly on the following topics: forest pests, eucalyptus pests, integrated pest management, biological control, exotic pests, biodiversity and Psylloidea taxonomy.
My goal on iNaturalist is to connect with other psyllid enthusiasts around the world, especially in the Americas and exchange experiences about observations and collections and relationships with their hosts. I would also like to participate in a field expedition to know the Psylloidea fauna of California native psyllids, their host plants, with a special focus on the potato psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli), because I think soon, this species could be another invasive in brazil.
