The flowerpot mushroom

The flowerpot mushroom is a saprophytic mushroom that appears to have a moderate history as it was first recorded in 1785. It is a saprophyte. Interestingly, this mushroom is normally found in housepots. This is because it is a tropical mushroom, why it was even in the forest where I found it is a mystery. Its spores are 5um in diameter. Finally, it is also considered toxic as a gastrointestinal irritant.

Snowberries

The genus of the snow berry, as I was unable to identify its species is the Symphoricarpos, upon seeing its relations, it appears to be in the family honeysuckles, having close relationships to plants such as the Japanese honeysuckle and the fullers teaser to name a few. It is in the domain of eukaryotes and the kingdom of plants.

There are no common adaptations between all species as there was a combination of animals and plants although one could argue that they all are eukaryotes and thus likely have mitochondria and a nucleus. That being said, among the plants, all were capable of photosynthesis and many were also angiosperms which produced flowering bodies.

One unique trait was held by the snow berry which not only bears fruit, (which only one other plant has) but in fact, bears poisonous fruit which can be harmful to humans.
