Some type of turtle found in the backyard.
This is the anterior end of my previously pictured snapping turtle.
It's being debated between common snapper and an alligator snapper.
I hope this picture helps settle that debate. To me, the shell looks too jagged for a common snapper, but I don't know anymore.
Intergrade slider from remote location. The more complete pattern on the belly is indicative of red-eared slider influence, and most in this area seem to show that.
Found upside down on trail near some foot prints and a partially dug nest, possibly left by a hunter or fisherman with the intent to collect the turtle on the way out.
Can’t tell if this is a gray squirrel with a red tint to its fur or a different species of squirrel. It was smaller than my usual squirrels, but it may just have been a juvenile.
Some guy drove by and shouted “moccasin!”
Close enough.
