Fungal fruiting body, with a base approx. 30 cm by 40 cm in size; emerging from a cavity, approx. 3.5 to 4 m above the ground, in a Peppermint (Eucalytus radiata), in a bushland setting.
Found in a coniferous environment.

I don't know fungi - I'm not even one myself - but eyeballing it I think it most closely resembles a death cap. For the record I'm not one of those either.
