Just above tree line in one photo, another resting on dead tree branch in other photo.
Saw two when first photo was taken, one flew behind tree line, other barely visible. Some large, some smaller. Most likely a nesting area in cove across river, or “Heronry,” a colony of heron nests!
Silhouetted against the sky, the wings (which I observed) are sadly not visible. However, I do have an audio recording of its song, which should help.
Multiple geese on the water.
iNaturalist's suggested IDs for this one include "eastern cottontail" and "bobcat" but I am pretty sure this is actually a bird of some sort.
