Small mats of the low-growing foliage have 3" stalks with four-headed flowers.
Probably the largest beech back here. Located on the slope of a small creek valley that avoided clearcuts from G. O. Carlson Airport, National Railroad Passenger Corp., and the farm that once sat where the end of the airport's runway presently is.
An absolute behemonth of a tree. Located in an exceptionally deep valley, this also avoided the railroad's clearcut ~80 (?) years ago. Probably clocks in at well over 115 feet & is probably taller than most, if not all buildings in town
