Observed on the roadside, collected and brought home for observation because it was getting dark and hard to see. Extremely hairy spikelets. I believe this is Agropyron Intermedium var. trichophorum (pubescent wheatgrass).
Wild or weedy oats growing along a crop field of harvested Pisum sativum in the Highland Glen area just north of Kagy Blvd, Bozeman, Gallatin County, Montana. Wild oats is most conspicuous in post flowering and fruiting condition because of a tall stature combined with large papery glumes that persist on the large open panicle.
