Description: Sterile leaves 2 pinnate to 3-pinnate-pinnatifid at the base; rhizomes long-creeping; plants terrestrial, epipetric, scandent or hemiepiphyte (rarely). Sterile leaves 2-pinnate to 3 pinnate-pinnatifid at the base; laminae glabrous (hairs absent) or pubescent in at least one surface; sterile leaf apices pinnatifid. Margins of the segments of the sterile leaves glabrous or (rarely) glabrescent; rhizome scales appressed; paraphyses unbranched. Rachises pubescent adaxially. Margins of the segments of the sterile leaves pilose; rhizome scales appressed or patent; paraphyses unbranched or conspicuously branched. Paraphyses conspicuously branched; rhizome scales patent and reddish brown. Paraphyses unbranched; rhizome scales appressed and dark brown. Laminae surfaces eglandular; sterile leaves 2–3-pinnate-pinnatifid; apices of the fertile pinnae acute to cuneate. Rhizome scales opaque and stiff, margins entire or subentire; pinnules of the medial pinnae catadromic; hairs on the veins 0.3–0.6 mm long, 3–6-celled 1.
