Released pet
This turtle was found 5/24/16 at Hell Hollow Metropark. Local park and CMNH experts agreed this individual was released from captivity to this location.
This monster is presumed to be the same individual seen at the same location in 2016, identified previously as ssp. "emoryi". Thanks to Danny for the heads-up.
Turned south off Concession 4 onto County Road 19 south of Wendover, Ontario. 300 meters south of the intersection travelling at only 40 km/h, I came across 8 cows on the highway slowly crossing west to east with 2 more cows and 1 bull coming up out of the westside ditch. Observed these Elk for a total of 20 seconds in my highbeams from a distance of 30 meters until they disappeared into the woods.
Fur found on kill site.
Northern Map Turtle in the river, the beak appeared to be red in color
1 male (long tail, small stature) basking
Not sure what this was? I have been told an American Eel but also heard those are very rare for this river.
Don't know much about snakes, swam pretty quick
