Paxillus cuprinus found under pin oak and camellias. Bruising red brown, incurled margins of pilus, decurrent gills.
My initial research brought me to thinking this was similar to a European 'slippery jack', but I'm not sure.
The tops were definitely slick, but I think it was mostly dew and their cap shape/location.
Growing in heavy leaf litter along a park path
