Barely fused T1 and 2, spot on S8, no facial stripes, incomplete T3, wide club. May be Septima’s Clubtail but appearance is much closer to fraternus, despite it not having been recorded from the Pee Dee-Yadkin River
I'm going out on a limb and saying this is a Brown Spiketail because of the yellow pattern on the abdomen and yellow stripes on the thorax. It seems to fit.
There were several of these (and they were occasionally arguing--tussling) in a small sunny clearing at the edge of the woods at Turnbull.
