Lots of burnt juniper and some dicot tree. Tons of annual Mentzelia and Phacelia. Cicadas singing from pretty low down, like 10 in up, but others were singing from the tops of junipers. I got pics of the individual in the second sound recording.

Finally found one. The first photo was where I first found it. I tried grabbing it, but it flew away. A little after that, it started calling again. The second photo is the next place it flew. I still couldn't reach it. It then flew onto the ground and started calling once again. That's where I took both the audios and most of the photos. The first audio was when I first approached it. It did the on and off buzzing when it heard me. A little after, it continued buzzing louder when it thought I was gone.

The spectrograms were taken in the beginning, middle and end of the last, most clear audio.

Lots of grasses. Pines with some oaks.
