Information I found on E. aurantiacum.

"Described as a virulent parasite of corticolous Physcia spp., occasionally also attacking neighbouring thalli of other lichens." "A lichenicolous fungus with orange sclerotia found on dead and dying areas of the host thallus." "Pale orange bulbils on bleached areas of lichen thalli. Bulbils can be spherical or merged into distorted shapes." In the original observation you can clearly see the thallus of P. pumilior is bleached although it doesn't appear so in these images.
