On August 11, 2021, we were eating at home and this bird, House Sparrow, flew into the house and landed on the TV cabinet.
Always around 3pm we throw the leftover bread crumbs from the meal on the balcony and the same number of birds always come, this bird was not afraid of us and went inside the house. It did not get scared when we passed by and left when it wanted to.

This 35cm mullet must have gotten stuck in the undercarriage of my vehicle when I went through the Ivanhoe Crossing in the evening. The stench by Friday morning alerted me and I managed to drag it out. Damaged the head somewhat trying to hook it out with a fish hook and line as I could not pull it backwards.

Ew.

Well, I guess I'm in the unique position of having killed a fish...with a ute.

I went outside to go for a walk, picked up one of my boots, and started to put it on. They're almost too small, so I had to do some wiggling to get my foot in. I often don’t wear socks in my shoes, which I think was a good thing in this case. My foot was most of the way in when it touched something furry. I froze, trying to figure out what it was. It didn’t move either. Then I yanked my foot back out and looked inside, and there was a little rodent in there! I pinched the top of the boot shut before it could escape, then called to my mom that I needed my camera right now and I probably shouldn’t come in the house because I was holding a boot with a rat in it. She brought my camera out and I took some adorable pictures before it ran back into the toe. Then I dumped it out and it ran away.

I was walking through the park, I had just photographed some raptors flying in the sky. I looked forward and see an Eastern Gray Squirrel perched on a trash can. I approached slowly as to not scare it away. What happened next would be one of the funniest I had seen as of recently!

The squirrel was going in and out the trash can, trying to get something [2]. It did this over and over again until it emerged with a plastic bowl of what looked to be cream and chocolate ice cream [3]. It sat there gorging itself for several minutes before jumping down and running up a nearby tree. But that wasn't the end of it. I continued my pursuit of this rambunctious rodent for nearly 15 minutes.

The squirrel ran up a close tree, the plastic bowl making loud scratching sounds being rubbed against the tree's bark. Once in the comfortable position, the squirrel really began to feast [4]. It held the cup close to its face and got up on its back legs. It seemed to really be enjoying what was in the cup! It leaned back and lost its footing and nearly fell out of the tree! It was in compromised position for a couple seconds, like the squirrel seen here: https://inaturalist.ca/observations/109419081. It got back up and jumped to the next tree over [5], it couldn't risk me getting its tasty treat.

From then on, it became a chase between me and the squirrel. It jumped from tree to tree but eventually returned to the ground. I ran after it, and it ran back in response. But OH NO! He dropped his treat [6]! Quite humorously, the squirrel slowly returned to get the plastic bowl back. Nice to know it would risk its life for its gut.

Next to the safety of a tree, it began to just dig into the bowl! Sticking its whole head in it! Sounds of plastic being chewed filled the air.

While it was eating, I grew closer, trying to get the best shots I could. But I got too close, and it ran off. I followed it. The last picture is my favourite. Its entire head it in the bowl!

The squirrel would run up into the trees again and not come down. I had to move on.

Certainly one of funniest moments I've experiences in the great outdoors.

Last night, April 25, my roommates and I found two baby American alligators( this record is the second one) when we were fishing by a lake in Johnson Park, Piscataway, New Jersey. Both alligators were found hidden underneath twigs and litters by the water. This is kinda insane. Both alligators are about one foot long. Each has a metaltag with numbers on the right rear feet. Obviously, they were released or escaped form someone or some facilities. Having a alligators as a pet is completely illegal in New Jersey, also they are not able to go through the cold winter here. So I have no idea why they were appear in this small pond at a relatively busy park.
I captured both alligators after I spotted them. And reported to wildlife department immediately. NJ State Conservation Police will come to pick them up tomorrow morning.

I ID'ed it at the time a a Sandhill X Whooping Crane hybrid. Not sure if this is 100% correct, but it seems like the best fit. notes from that time: "Distant looks, thru heat-waves, at an unusual white Sandhill'ish Crane. This bird was amongst the large Sandhill Crane flock at Paul's Lake, Muleshoe NWR on 9 January 2003. It had the size, shape and red cap of a Sandhill Crane, but it had the pure white body with black primaries of a Whooping Crane. Perhaps this was a hybrid Whooping X Sandhill."
