Photo shared with me from anonymous source, confirmed found in Bell Canyon vicinity. The only case of bicephalia I’ve seen confirmed in the Santa Monica Mountains vicinity. Can’t confirm date/year of original observation. Animal was supposedly donated to an Audubon Zoo facility after being kept in captivity, can not confirm this or current status of the animal. Apparently likely no longer living but lived at least 14 years in captivity supposedly.

On right, with a F. trilineata at left for comparison. Both were from the same small tide pool. Scanned from a 35 mm negative.
In a post to the Sea Slug Forum (http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/2621) I had identified these as F. bertschi, but after finding more in California, realized they were different from that Panamic species. Brenna Green's work, including genetics, pinned them down as a color variation of F. cooperi.

The Coyote looked at me, yawned, trotted a few steps and then peed, walked a few more steps, yawned again, and then disappeared. Meanwhile, a CA Ground Squirrel was so busy yelling alarm, it didn't even notice me standing right next to it. The Coyote chose well. A couple of hours later I found a whole colony of squirrels in the area.
