November 7th, 2020 (Saturday) 9:30-11:30 am: no newts today! Walking with @tyap.
Weather was cool. AQI was good. It rained a little bit in San Jose at night, so I wanted to check out the road.
Other roadkills: a couple of moths, a Jerusalem Cricket, and a bee. The alligator lizard (with scat on top) was still there.
Coverage: north part - the county park parking lot till the second stop sign.
Traffic: Saturdays are so different than weekdays! no trucks, 83 cars, 7 motorcycle, 8 bikes, 44 pedestrians, and 107 cars parked by the road and in the parking lots. A busy morning!
We met two other guys from the Midpen population study. They haven't found any newts, but when we saw them just they pulled out a beautiful Calisoga spider from one of the traps, so I got some photos.
The rowing club was open. All county park parking lots were open.
