Newt survey - 11/27 - after the first rain

1 dead newt, 0 live newts.
November 27, 2019 (Wednesday) 10:30 am – 12:20 pm
The first big rain event has just started the day before. It started in the afternoon, and continued through the night. During the survey there was little to no drizzle. I only found 1 fresh dead newt, probably died this morning.
No other roadkills.
Coverage: Vulcan quarry to the stop sign (37.187875, -121.986516) plus spot-checked the Jones Trail trailhead.
Rainfall: (MTD: 1.74 in; YTD: 1.8 in) The weather was cold and wet, light drizzle.
Traffic: Light traffic. Two gravel trucks, two maintenance trucks, 16 cars, and one bike.
