CNC and coronavirus

I hope this note is finding everyone well. There have been some changes made to the City Nature Challenge in light of the ongoing pandemic. In short, the City Nature Challenge is still on globally, but it is no longer a competition. It’s focus is now on the healing power of being outside and showing that even though we are all physically apart, we can still work on something together. If you would like to see the full statement from the global organizers, it is here: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2020/journal/31768-cnc-covid-19

At this point, the CNC is still 36 days away and the situation here in NYC is changing daily. We will keep you posted here as CNC-related updates are issued. Events may be canceled, but that doesn't mean you can't go out on your own or look out your doors/windows to find observations to make as long as it is safe to do so. We will make sure to follow all local/state/federal regulations as we do this.

Actually, as I was typing this, Notify NYC pushed out this pdf: https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/doh/downloads/pdf/imm/stop-the-spread-poster.pdf Please follow these recommendations if you do decide to go outside for some fresh air and a few iNat observations.

Stay safe,
Kelly
