I started out a birder. Since using iNaturalist I'll stop and look at just about anything. I've learned and then forgotten a lot, on my own and through Nature Forward. The best things I've learned is what to look for (as in characteristics of habitat or different types of animals), because now every day can be a scavenger hunt. I enjoy looking at what others have submitted, and try (conservatively) to identify some things to contribute to the community. I usually look at the "Biodiversity of the Anacostia River" project, because that's my watershed.
