I am a geologist and for my work I spend a lot of time in the field. What I love about my job is that I get to go off trail many times and this brings me to hidden places in the middle of the macchia, where I often come in contact with critters of all kinds. I like to use Inaturalist to learn more about the species I find.

I have discovered Inaturalist during a research stay in Japan. There, I was walking uphill in mountain streams in Shikoku in the forested areas far away from any form of civilization. There, it was quite normal to meet arachnids, insects, amphibians, reptiles, and even some mammals - but spiders are definitely my favorites!

If you like rocks, here is my website: https://geologyistheway.com/

You can tag me but I can help mostly with Argiope sp. (my favorite taxon), but remember that I am not an arachnologist, so you may want to tag @alexkerr @ajott @naufalurfi @paolosol or @e16 instead (just to cite a few).
