I walked and stayed around 35 minutes in the pine tree reserve with one other friend. It was cold today, around 50 degrees but the weather was clear and a bit windy. I walked around the pine tree reserve for the first walk as well. However, since I was looking specifically today for fungi, I saw many things that I did not see before. The last time I saw 1-2 small mushrooms hidden under patches of grass, this time there were so many different colors, shapes, and sizes. Besides mushrooms, I also saw fungi on the pine tree bark which is pretty common on most trees. It was very interesting to have a change in perspective and was pretty fun to pick out things I never saw before. Honestly, it was my partner who recognizes these different things and I saw what she was pointing to. It goes to show that my eyes have not been fully open to seeing diverse organisms around me close by. Perhaps as I get used to the nature walks I'll recognize more things as well.
