2022 Bioblitz coming close to the end

What an amazing job done by all the participants in the Toledo Zoo Project PRAIRIE 2022 Bioblitz. 1,325 observations of 314 species with 20 schools participating in the project. Observations were made up of 195 plant species, four mollusks, 77 insect species,10 species of arachnids, two reptile species, four birds, two mammals and 19 species of fungi.

Congratulations to Perrysburg JHS for tallying up the most observations so far with 377! Well done. But Wintergarten Park is hot on your heels with 308 observations.

It will be great to see what observations are added in the last few days. With the changing temperatures new species will be looking for cover and food and each day a new opportunity to add observations to the project.

So get up, get out and explore.
