Weekly statistics between October 18, 2020 and October 24, 2020

This week, 250 observers made 1722 observations between Sunday, October 18 to Saturday, October 24, 2020. Among the top five observers, @ronwertz observed 144 examples of life in the Anacostia watershed; @willparson contributed 87; @jmgconsult contributed 73; @dtread1 contributed 68; and @mabbasi_4 contributed 64. Rounding out the top 10, @stephen220 contributed 54; @woodcut55 contributed 53; @jamiejorgensen2 contributed 46; @onertwons contributed 39; and @charlottew4001 contributed 37. 90 people contributed one observation, 39 people contributed two observations, and 16 people contributed 3 observations. Plants stayed in first place by a wide margin (848 observations), followed by Insects (240 observations), and Birds (Aves) (230 observations). Fungi dropped to fourth place. Amphibia had three observations.
A few highlights of observations are provided below, to celebrate the wide variety of life found in the Anacostia watershed. All observations are welcome, every contribution helps document the magnificent diversity of our community. Thank you to everyone who contributed observations this week!
