Birding is my hobby, but I have studied wildlife ecology and worked in wildlife conservation. Much of my career has been spent in China, so I had to re-learn US birds after moving back some years ago. I know cranes well, having worked at the International Crane Foundation. I also know giant pandas well, but am unlikely to see here any in Minnesota.
