I'm interested in all aspects of natural history. Birds are the main focus of my life. I was president of the Ontario Field Ornithologists from 1995 to 2004 and editor of OFO News from 1994 to 2007. I also served as a voting member and chair of the Ontario Bird Records Committee. My particular conservation interests are the protection of the Carden Alvar for grassland birds, and the James Bay Coast for shorebirds. Each spring or summer from 2002 to 2018, I participated as a volunteer in shorebird or goose research on Hudson Bay and James Bay in Ontario. Currently I lead trips for Quest Nature Tours with a special interest in the Arctic and northern countries. I'm fascinated by all birds. My birding now focuses on shorebirds, gulls, grassland birds, bird identification, photography, and spending May at Point Pelee. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
