I am a 72 year old cloistered monk and have lived in my monastery for the last 46 yeas, It is located in Rockdale County, Georgia 30 miles southeast of Atlanta. I am fortunate enough to have 2300 acres to roam around on and search out natural wonders. It is actually the largest privately owned Greenspace in Metro Atlanta, and includes s small, river several named creeks with many little streams. Also 500 acres of protected wetland along with fields, pine plantations, and hardwood forest.
I started in 1974 looking at birds, around 2000, I added butterflies and then quickly dragonflies. I dabbled in plants a little bit but it was way over my head. Several years ago I joined the Georgia pollinator Count and I have been hooked ever since. I don't see myself as a photographer. I actually got into it to confirm to the experts what I was seeing. So now I photograph whatever natural phenomena I stumble upon, or in some cases search out.
