a nature enthusiast, certainly not a naturalist. Graduated Medical School in 1971, PhD in philosophy from UT Austin 20 years later. Practice cancer medicine and now mostly devote my time developing and implementing novel cancer care delivery systems. Interested in evidence, value, ethics and moral theory.

Long standing love of photography, especially capturing the beauty of small things, mostly birds, but almost anything that looks interesting. Constant sense of wonder for me - is there beauty in nature (yes), if that beauty is captured in any medium is it art or simply reproduction (art, can be), why do we appreciate beauty in the first place - that is, what is the evolutionary role, if any. But I digress. Back to work.

I am incredibly impressed and appreciative of the iNat community for its efforts, knowledge and diversity.
