a) Color, shape, and size:
• Color: The organism observed had bright green leaves with a brown stem and brown sori underneath them.
• Shape: Three leaves were attached to the same stem. The leaves had a pointing end. There were small round sori underneath them.
• Size: The leaf had a length of approximately 10 centimeters and a width of 5cm. The leaf in the middle was the longest and the stem attached to it had a length of 12 centimeters and was attached to a tree.

b) Habitat: The organism was found attached to a tree located on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa. It was surrounded by trees and vegetation. Along the same tree, many different species were surrounding adjacent to this organism like lichens, and other kinds of ferns. There was no source of water nearby.
c) Defining characteristics: The stem of the leaf is weak and relatively short. The leaves which are the sporophytes of the plant had sori underneath them, these are clusters of sporangia that they use to reproduce, a diagnostic characteristic of members of the division Pteridophyta. The organism was not located near a body of water. It does not have the presence of any flower, seed, or fruit.

a) Color, shape and size:
• Color: The organism observed had a fully brown body with lighter details on its dorsal side extending all the way through the end of its tail. The tail was lighter than the rest of the body and had small black dots that followed a specific pattern. Its legs too had a specific spotted pattern of a lighter color.
• Shape: The organism demonstrated bilateral symmetry. It had four legs, two on each side of the body (one in the posterior and one in the anterior side). Each of its feet had five toes. Its limbs were bent, and it was resting.
• Size: It was a small organism about 4 centimeters long and the tail alone was as long as its body.
b) Habitat: The organism was found in a residential space in the city of Weston, FL. It was near a big body of vegetation including trees and ferns. It was also near damp soil.
c) Defining characteristics: The organisms moved fast, utilized its four limbs for motion and had a long tail. The organism was taking up sun in order to regulate its body temperature, a diagnostic behavior in reptiles. A useful distinctive visual characteristic of this specie is the colored line on its dorsal side going from its head to its tail as well as the spots on its rear limbs. Its skin appears dry and scaly.

a) Color, shape, and size:
• Color: This insect has bilateral symmetry. It is showing black and yellow stripes along its thorax where the legs and wings with black streaks were attached. The tail had a black and blue coloring as well as its head.
• Shape: The insect had two pairs of rounded and elongated wings attached to its dorsal part. It had 3 legs on each side of its body attached to the ventral part. The tail was elongated, and it seemed to have different segments. It had two spherical eyes on top of its head.
• Size: This insect was approximately three centimeters long. Its wings were as long as its entire body.

b) Habitat: This organism was found resting on top of a fence in the city of Weston, Fl. The surroundings were filled with trees and moist ground. There was no water nearby and the temperature was around 90°. Males are found around bodies of water whilst females are found near vegetation. This organism needs to leave its wings exposed to the sun before flying which is why it is more likely to encounter them in places where there is sun abundance.
c) Defining characteristics: This organism presents with bilateral symmetry, has a pair of wings attached to the thorax on the dorsal side. It also has a specific coloring pattern that is used to differentiate themselves from other species and attract mates. As an insect, it has a chitinous exoskeleton composed of various articulated parts. This is also a distinctive characteristic of the phylum Arthropoda (from the greek arthron=joint, podos=foot).

a) Color, shape and size:
• Color: This organism had a white border and light brown surface with a blackened center. It has a pattern of circular shapes of creme color surrounding an eccentric center.
• Shape: This fungi specimen presented four circular and flat sexual structures, called basidiocarps, with a diameter of approximately between 2 and 5 centimeters. The surface area of this organism showed circular black streaks.
• Size: The height of the basidiocarps varied but they were all between a centimeter tall. These were distributed along a medium size fallen log.
b) Habitat: These organisms were found growing from a wooden stick in a residential habitat located in Weston, Florida. The environment was humid, and a tree was shadowing them. Even though their mycelium can extend for many meters, they need to grow in a damp or moist area. They are usually growing from living or dead organisms such as animals or plants.
c) Defining characteristics: The organisms seemed to be decomposing the log. They use their mycelia to break down nutrients from the log and absorb them. This organism has a cap and a stem which represent its reproductive part, this type of sporocarp is an example of individuals belonging to the phylum Basidiomycota. This group of mushrooms specializes in degrading and feeding from organic compounds such as lignin and cellulose, which are difficult to break down.

a) Color, shape and size:
• Color: This flower has a green stem, white petals, and a yellow center.
• Shape: The flower has 6 white petals and 5 unmatured flowers growing from a shared stem.
• Size: The stem of the flower was relatively large, measuring approximately 20 centimeters. The flower is relatively small with a 3-centimeter diameter.
b) Habitat: This organism was found growing in between planted bushes. It grew past the bushes toward a bridge that is over them. This bridge is located on the outskirts of the University of South Florida campus in Tampa Florida. This organism was exposed to sunlight and high temperatures and there was not a source of water near it.
c) Defining characteristics: By the observation of the flower, it can be deduced that this organism is an angiosperm. The flower has a yellow middle part which is where pollen is stored before it is dispersed by wind or a pollinator to reproduce. This organism also had an elongated stem and was not located near a body of water, which evidences the presence of vascular tissues.

Visual Description: This Onion-Stalk Parasol is an off-white color with a campanulated shape that is approximately 2 inches wide with a stalk that is 2 inches tall. The spores on the fungi appear to be white and allow for reproduction within the gills. The stipe or stalk is pink and allows for the growth of the Onion-Stalk Parasol. The center of the Onion-Stalk Parasol is a beige color with textured cream colored spores.

Defining Characteristic: Onion-Stalk Parasol is a fungi. The campanulated shape, spies and gills are indicative of this species being a fungi. Under the surface the hyphae or mycelium is a major indicator that an organism may be a fungi. In this case the spores and structure were helpful but underground the mycelium structure is the main indicator of this species being a fungi.

Habitat: The Onion-Stalk Parasol resides in moist forests, woodlands, and wetlands as well as urban areas around wood chips. This specific Onion-Stalk Parasol was found around wood chips near the University of South Florida next to a building.

Visual Description: This pinto peanut is approximately 3cm wide. The pinto peanut is bright yellow with a stalk about 5 inches tall. The stalk is a medium brown color. The pinto peanut has a center bulb where the ovaries are located to reproduce down the line.

Defining Characteristics: This pinto peanut is a seeded vascular plant. The vascular tissue, roots, leaves, and stem (Stalk) is indicative of this pinto peanut being a seeded plant. Seeded plants have the capacity of reproducing through various mechanisms such as wind, water, or animals in this case pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Habitat: The pinto peanuts reside mostly in humid tropical climates such as Argentina, Australia, Asia, Colombia, and America. This specific pinto peanut however, was found near the University of South Florida in a patch of the same species nearby the campus publix.
